I have tried 1000 Salmon recipes. I love the idea of eating Salmon…. Great source of protein, high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids, but I want my salmon to have flavor outside of putting a small slice in a roll of sushi dipped in soy sauce.
I’ve finally found my favorite recipe, and it doesn’t surprise me that it’s from Natasha’s Kitchen. If you don’t know this site, I hope you come to love it because every recipe I have ever made from this site was one of the best!
This salmon has few ingredients, it’s so easy to make but as delicious as any salmon recipe that you’ll try.
I paired my Salmon with some of my favorite dinner vegetables; roasted okra and carrots.
Have you ever heard that fears are learned?
Well, I believe that I learned a fear of carrots from my father. My dad doesn’t want to touch a carrot with a 10-foot pole, therefore I have never cooked with them or eaten them… until recently I have found a new love.
I roast them in garlic and olive oil and with a few minutes left to cook, I drizzle honey on top. So good… and so good for your eyes, right?!
I have this recipe on repeat, so I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
24 oz Salmon Filets, boneless and skinless (4 filets 6 oz each)
1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
1/8 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp light olive oil or any high-heat cooking oil
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbsp soy sauce
Instructions:
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of honey and 2 tbsp of soy sauce
If Salmon is not skinless, you'll want to slide the knife along the skin separating from salmon; you will want the flavor from the sauce on both sides
Once skin is removed, season with sea salt and pepper
Dredge the salmon in flour, shaking to remove any excess
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat *high heat will burn the sauce too quickly - I keep my stove top on a 6/10;* spray with olive oil or drizzle 2 TBSP of oil to begin heating up
Brush the first side of the salmon with 1/2 of the sauce, cooking for around 3 minutes while brushing the side face-up to you before flipping to cook for another 3 minutes
Ensure the salmon has a caramelized crust and is cooked through before serving
Enjoy!
