Chicken Shawarma Bowls


This has become one of our favorite lunch recipes! It's filling yet extremely nutritious and a way to add a range of vegetables into your diet.

If you're not familiar with Shawarma seasoning, I encourage you to try to bring spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom into your diet.


Fun Fact: The pungent and colorful spices used to season shawarma were already fixtures in Turkish culture by the time the dish was invented. Turkey’s geographical position straddling both Asia and Europe gave the country a key role in the early spice trade.


While this bowl brings in more Middle Eastern flavors, this is a dish that you can get creative with! Add eggplant, cucumbers and olives to make this bowl a 'Greek/ Meditteranean', add corn and beans for a Latin American flavor-filled bowl. This is up to you!








 

Marinated Chicken Shawarma Thighs at Trader Joes. Grab some next time you're there and keep them in your freezer. Air-Fry on Sunday for prep to enjoy these through the week! Trader Joe's also has a Garlic Spread that is a replacement for Toum as well as a fabulous Avocado Tzatziki!
